What is a Dental Appliance?

Our dentists at Centre dentaire Île-Perrot offer dental appliances such as mouth guards and night guards to help protect the health of your oral cavity.
Typically, patients come in for two appointments to have a custom-made mouth guard fit. During the first appointment, the dentist takes an impression of your teeth using a digital scanner.
The 3D impressions of your teeth are sent to a lab to have the guard custom-made. At the second appointment, the guard is fitted to confirm a snug fit, full coverage and that it fits comfortably.

Sports Guards
We want you to stay safe while getting your daily exercise in and being physically active. If you are hit in the mouth while playing sports, a mouth guard acts as a barrier between your teeth and the soft tissue of your mouth to protect your smile.
Night Guards
If you grind your teeth during sleep, a mouth guard will help protect your teeth from damage. If you clench your jaw, a mouth guard will also help prevent you from clenching and provide some pain relief.
